Is it your son or daughter’s last year on a sports team? Perhaps you’re moving away or they’ve played for a number of years on their local team or their graduating from the school team they’re on. Commemorating a sports team with some professional photography is a wonderful way to preserve these memories and mark the hard work, team spirit and dedication your child has put-forth while with that team. Here are some ideas to commemorate them on a job well done.
Create a series of photos from a final game
Games dates are often set out in advance. Consider rounding up a few other interested parents and chipping in for a photographer who can attend their final game and take shots of the winning goals. Whether it’s ice hockey or field hockey, a professional photographer will capture your child and their teammates in action, to create a series of shots of this moment in time.
This is especially great if your child is planning on going into sports professionally in the future. Professional photos of your son or daughter playing their respective sport will add a disincentive dimension to university and college applications, scholarship programs and the like. It’s also a great way to mark growth, changes and progression over the years.
Throw an end-of-the-season party
Another great way to commemorate a sports team is to throw an after-game party at the end of the season. Teams often turn into close friends – or so you’d hope after year-in-and-year-out of weekly practices and time spent together! A post-game party or dinner is a great opportunity to take semi-formal photos of your child and their teammates celebrating the end of the season.
